Introduction

To maintain and grow market share in respect of the food industry/food factories (industrial) client bases within the designated area.

Duties & Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing

  • Increases sales and market share by:

–   actively acquiring new customers and growing the client base;

–   replacing equipment older than 5 years;

–   advising clients on and selling new value-adding products that could

enhance their businesses.

  • Obtains planned rollouts for the year from clients in the designated region, and targets new developments through meetings, visits and cold calling for marketing and sales purposes.
  • Hands over customers in other provinces/regions to the relevant branch managers and follows up to ensure that deals are closed and business obtained. Oversees this process and monitors progress on these deals.
  • Negotiates pricing with clients within given parameters.

Project Management

  • Ensures that service is provided to new clients and that installations are done effectively and in accordance with the Installations Checklist:
      • checks that invoicing is done correctly from the sales order filled out by the Sales Executive and that the invoice, together with the Checklist, is faxed to the relevant branches;
      • checks and ensures that signed confirmation is received from the Technician and the customer representative that installation has been done effectively.

Customer Relations

  • Maintains sound relations with existing clients by visiting and/or calling each at least every second month.
  • Ensures that clients are satisfied with service provided, and reports problems to the relevant branches.

Reporting and Feedback

  • Meets with the Regional Manager twice a month to discuss each customer group from a rollout point of view, as well as the status of each account, i.e. monies outstanding.
  • Does formal written report back to the Regional Manager by updating the minutes of every meeting.
  • Reports to the Regional Manager at the end of each week on events and activities of each day of the past week, which include clients visited, status of clients, and general comments.
  • At monthly meetings also discuss general strategy to be followed in terms of new products launched and exhibitions.
  • Sets up and arranges meetings between customers and international suppliers when required.

  • Grade 12.
  • At least 2-5 years sales experience.
  • Own Vehicle
  • Based in Cape town
  • Between 25 -30 of year
