Introduction

Sales Reps play a vital role in the success of the organization. A Sales Representative’s primary duty, regardless of the service or type of product they sell, is to interest purchasing agents and buyers in the services or products of a company. In addition,they address questions and concerns of a client. Most sales representatives demonstrate the company products and give advice to clients on the benefits of using their products to reduce costs and increase revenue. Sales representative spend much of their time in traveling and visiting the existing clients and prospective customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maximize, strengthen and increase sale volumes, revenues and profits by identifying and developing new business opportunities through research and early identification of project opportunities.
  • Maintaining relationship with existing and new customers.
  • Managing accounts portfolio/Relationship Management.
  • Responsible for cost control, reporting, budgeting and Order Intake forecasting.
  • Responsible for the profitability of my area of responsibility, margins and production costs, as well as the growth and development of my customer portfolio.
  • Securing orders for projects specified.
  • Update market intelligence for: customer’s structure, knowledge, potential, opportunities, competitors, price levels.
  • Generating price analysis reports per customer and product.
  • Analysis of the client’s profitability so as to implement appropriate sales actions.
  •  Solution Development – understand client requirements and design customized solutions based on service offering.
  • Offering of technical solutions according to the customer’s needs and specifications, and negotiate commercial terms of sale.
  •  Identify upsell opportunities – increase client sales continuously through understanding client requirements and presenting new appropriate services.
  •  Industry Research – research potential client history and information.
  •  Optimize results from on-going assessment with the objective of creating client loyalty and guaranteeing future sales.
  • Contribute to defining the sales and marketing strategy in the field of activity. Monitor competition in the market and keep abreast of changes in the environment

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric or NQF level 4
  • Certificate or Diploma in Sales and Marketing
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • 3-5 years working experience in Sales in the Manufacturing Industry
  • 3-5 years working experience in Sales in Harnessing Products
  • Computer literate
  • SAP knowledge (advantageous)
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Time management skills
  • Good command of English (written and spoken). Other South African languages advantageous – Afrikaans/ Zulu.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Product knowledge (Manufacturing/Harnessing)
  • Ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
  • Customer service skills
