Duties & Responsibilities
Based in Jet Park, the purpose of this position is to develop and implement strategies that will assist in directing marketing activities of the SPAR South Rand Distribution Centre in a manner that effectively benefits our retailers as well as the SPAR brand in Gauteng.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Strategic Planning
- Identify strategic areas of importance.
- Develop and implement plans to capitalize on marketing strategies
- Monitor results and assess /analyse outcomes
- Budgeting/Finance
- Analyse trends and forecast figure
- Formulate budgets/targets
Supplier Management
- Leverage the efficiency with which the DC purchase products from suppliers.
- Create and manage strategic supplier relationships
Market Positioning
- Understand and monitor market positioning trends
- Create downstream consumer preference for our products based on trends and/or any other relevant information
- Gain preferential marketing opportunities as part of product placement and promotion
Talent Management
- Attract, develop, and retain talent within your area of responsibility
- Provide direction and motivation through effective communication
Service Differentiation
- Provide service differentiation to retailers in a manner that adds value to both the Retailer and DC.
- Be able to build relationships and deliver service to retailers in a manner that addresses their specific needs
Desired Experience & Qualification
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) Pre-requisite
- Tertiary qualification is essential
- 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Senior Manager in Marketing
- Excellent analytical skills, ability to think logically and “out of the box”
- Extensive knowledge of marketing with solid financial knowledge
- Fully computer literate (MS Office Suite)
- Driver’s Licence
- Possess excellent communication skills (presentation, oral and written)
- Strategic decision making
- Must be a self-starter and result driven.
- Must be innovative and manage ideas.
- Possess the characteristics of an innovative, encouraging, and dynamic leader.
- Display strong leadership skills and must be able to inspire, encourage and influence others.
- Have the ability to handle complex negotiations.
